GSE240790 The profile of miRNAs secreted into the supernatant during cardiac differentiation and maturation from human induced pluripotent stem cells verified by miRNA array analysis.
Contributors : Shugo Tohyama ; Otoya SekineSeries Type : Non-coding RNA profiling by arrayOrganism : Homo sapiensWe performed miRNA array analysis to analyze the miRNAs secreted into the supernatant during the mesoderm/cardiac differentiation and maturation process from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs). Supernatant samples were collected on day -1, day 3, day 5, day 7, day 9, day 21, day 35, and day 51.

Genes, Vol. 14, Pages 1831: CeRNA Network Reveals the Circular RNA Characterization in Goat Ear Fibroblasts Reprogramming into Mammary Epithelial Cells
Ben Huang Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a type of non-coding RNA that play a crucial role in the development and lactation of mammary glands in mammals. A total of 107 differentially expressed circRNAs (DE circRNAs) were found, of which 52 were up-regulated and 55 were down-regulated. We also found that DE circRNA host genes were mainly involved in GO terms related to the development process of mammary epithelial cells and KEGG pathways were mostly related to mammary epithelial cells, lactation, and gland development. Protein network analysis found that DE circRNAs can competitively bind to miRNAs as key circRNAs by c...

Viruses, Vol. 15, Pages 1976: Extracellular Vesicles as a Translational Approach for the Treatment of COVID-19 Disease: An Updated Overview
a Di Domenico Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) caused a global pandemic in the years 2020–2022. With a high prevalence, an easy route of transmission, and a long incubation time, SARS-CoV-2 spread quickly and affected public health and socioeconomic conditions. Several points need to be elucidated about its mechanisms of infection, in particular, its capability to evade the immune system and escape from neutralizing antibodies. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are phospholipid bilayer-delimited particles that are involved in cell-to-cell communication; they contain biological infor...

Lack of associations of microRNAs with severe NAFLD in people living with HIV: discovery case-control study
ConclusionAnalysis of the microRNA transcriptome profile of nonobese PLWH with severe NAFLD did not appear to differ from that of patients without NAFLD. Thus, microRNA might not serve as a proper biomarker for predicting severe NALFD in this population.

The Role of lncRNA-miR-26a-mRNA Network in Cancer Progression and Treatment
Biochem Genet. 2023 Sep 20. doi: 10.1007/s10528-023-10475-w. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe role of non-coding RNAs in regulating biological processes associated with cancer progression, such as proliferation, migration, and apoptosis, has been extensively studied. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a role in regulating these processes through various mechanisms, including transcriptional and post-transcriptional modifications. In post-transcriptional regulation, lncRNAs can bind to specific miRNAs and affect their function, which can either promote or inhibit cancer development. The interaction between lncRNAs, miRNAs...

Nuclear receptor RXR α binds the precursor of miR-103 to inhibit its maturation
The maturation of microRNAs (miRNAs) successively undergoes Drosha, Dicer, and Argonaute ˗mediated processing, however, the intricate regulations of the individual miRNA maturation are largely unknown. Retinoi...

Involvement of miR 155 in vascular calcifications
Vascular calcifications complicate endovascular and surgical treatment of arterial lesions. To date, there is no treatment that targets their development. Vascular calcifications are characterized by transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) to an osteoblastic phenotype resulting in the formation of mineralized tissue, particularly within atherosclerotic plaques. The aim was to identify regulated miRNAs (miRs) in calcified arteries and test their role in VSMCs mineralization.

Exosomal miRNAs as Next-generation Therapy Vehicles in Breast Cancer
Curr Gene Ther. 2023;23(5):330-342. doi: 10.2174/1566523223666230215103524.ABSTRACTThe second most pervasive cancer affecting the survival of women across the world is breast cancer. One of the biggest challenges in breast cancer treatment is the chemoresistance of cancer cells to various medications after some time. Therefore, highly specific blood-based biomarkers are required for early breast cancer diagnosis to overcome chemoresistance and improve patient survival. These days, exosomal miRNAs have attracted much attention as early diagnostic blood-based biomarkers because of their high stability, secretion from maligna...
