Involvement of the DNA mismatch repair system in cisplatin sensitivity of testicular germ cell tumours
ConclusionThis study reports, for the first time, expression of the MMR system in fetal gonocytes, from which GCNIS cells are derived. Our findings in primary TGCT specimens and TGCT-derived cells suggest that a reduced sensitivity to cisplatin in differentiated TGCT components could result from a reduced expression of MMR proteins, in particular MSH2 and MLH1, which are involved in the recognition of cisplatin adducts and in activation of the DNA damage response pathway to initiate apoptosis.

Unusual Anatomic Location of a Primary Intracranial Yolk Sac Tumor
A nongerminomatous germ cell tumor occurring in the brain parenchyma is extremely rare. A 2-year-old boy presented with symptoms of abnormal movements in the hand and mouth. MRI scanning revealed a lesion occupying the left temporoparietal region. Craniotomy was performed and the tumor was removed by en bloc resection. Histological examination revealed that the tumor was arranged in a reticular pattern, and Schiller-Duval bodies were evident at the center of the tumor. Immunohistochemical study showed that the tumor cells were positive for alpha-fetoprotein and vimentin, but negative for glial fibrillary acidic protein. Th...

Testicular Yolk Sac Tumor and Mature Teratoma :Synchronous Bilateral Occurrence in an Infant
We present a case of synchronous YST of the left testis and mature teratoma of the right in a 7-month-old infant treated with testis-sparing surgery at right testis and high radical orchiectomy at left. By follow-up of twenty eight-month, no atrophy or residual tumor in right testis and no recurrence or evidence of disease in left scrotum was found.

We present a case of synchronous YST of the left testis and mature teratoma of the right in a 7-month-old infant treated with testis-sparing surgery at right testis and high radical orchiectomy at left. By follow-up of 28th month, no atrophy, or residual tumor in right testis and no recurrence or evidence of disease in left scrotum was found.

Long-term outcomes after radiosurgery for glomus jugulare tumors.
CONCLUSIONS: Radiosurgery is an effective and safe treatment modality for GJT. Patients having 1 CN involvement before radiosurgery show a higher risk of lack of improvement of symptoms. PMID: 29714667 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

A survey to examine Candida albicans transmission through yolk sac and amniotic sac in chicken embryos
In conclusion, this study corroborated the embryo transmission ofCandida albicans via yolk sack and amniotic routes by focusing on the importance of hygiene and biosecurity in breeder flocks and particularly in hatcheries.

The Phenotypic And Functional Properties Of Mouse Yolk-Sac-Derived Embryonic Macrophages.
In conclusion, we have established a protocol to isolate and propagate EMs in vitro, have further defined specialized properties of yolk-sac-derived macrophages, and have identified EM-EC and EM-NSPC interactions as key inducers of EC tube formation and microglial cell maturation, respectively. Yolk sac-embryo distance in correlation with soluble form of vascular endothelial growth factor levels in pregnancy with potentially reserved evolutivity.
CONCLUSIONS: A low level of sFlt-1 associated with a distance between the embryo and yolk sac of small dimensions, respectively <3 mm, correlates with an increased rate of non-viable embryos. This correlation between an ultrasound and a serum parameter is of great value and brings important information about the viability of firsttrimester pregnancies. PMID: 30534657 [PubMed - in process]

A rare testicular tumor: primary carcinoid tumor.
CONCLUSION:: Primary neuroendocrine carcinoma of the testis is a very rare malignant tumor. Immunohistochemistry contributes to its diagnosis in relation to other metastatic neuroendocrine carcinomas, carcinoid tumor teratomas, seminoma, and Sertoli cells. Clinical characteristics and prognosis associated with multiple primary malignant tumors in non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients.
CONCLUSIONS:: OS time was shorter in patients with NHL who developed a second tumor than in those who were diagnosed with solid cancer synchronously and second neoplasm after previous solid tumors. Long-term follow-up and effective treatment should be provided to these patients. PMID: 30945608 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Prognostic factors and oncological outcomes of ovarian yolk sac tumors: a retrospective multicentric analysis of 99 cases
ConclusionsOur results demonstrate the significance of achieving no visible residual disease in patients with ovarian YST. Fertility-sparing approach for patients with no visible residual disease affected neither DFS nor OS. Although high lymphatic involvement rate was detected, the benefit of LND could not be demonstrated.
