Identification and experimental validation of autophagy-related genes in abdominal aortic aneurysm
ConclusionBioinformatics analysis identified 44 potential autophagy-related differentially expressed genes in AAA. Further verification by RT- qPCR presented that IL6, PPARG, SOD1, and MAP1LC3B may affect the development of AAA by regulating autophagy. These findings might help explain the pathogenesis of AAA and be helpful in its diagnosis and treatment.

Voluntary wheel running during adolescence prevents the increase in ethanol intake induced by social defeat in male mice
ConclusionsThe pre-exposure of VWR prevented the increase in consumption and motivation for ethanol induced by SD in susceptible mice. On the other hand, it appears that VWR did not exhibit any significant long-term effects on BDNF signaling, which is mainly affected in susceptible mice after ethanol intake.

Opportunities and challenges for decentralised clinical trials in sub-Saharan Africa: a qualitative study
Conclusion The transformation from a site to a patient-centric model with an increased responsibility of participants should be context adapted. The transformation requires substantial investment, training of the various stakeholders and an efficient communication. Additionally, commitment of sponsors, investigators, ethics and regulatory authorities and the buy-in of the communities are essential for this change.

General and local predictors of mandibular cortical bone morphology in adult females and males: the seventh survey of the Troms ø Study
ConclusionsTheT-score demonstrated a stronger relationship with MCW and MCI than other factors in females, which supports the usefulness of those indices for osteoporosis screening. Conversely, theT-score exhibited no association with MCW and remained the only significant predictor of MCI in males, yet to a lesser extent than in females.Clinical relevanceUnderstanding factors affecting mandibular cortical morphology is essential for further investigations of MCW and MCI usefulness for osteoporosis screening in females and males.
